Sent at 3 am by email to The Stranger:

hey there, i don't know if you know but banksy (THE biggest street artist out there) is featuring his new much hyped movie at harvard exit tonight (friday). when i was walking home from the bar about an hour ago i spotted what seemed to be a bonafide banksy original on the theater's wall! don't think it was commisioned cause the piece wasn't there a few hours ago and why would someone work so late? anyway, he's kind of a big deal in the current global art scene, and thought you guys might wanna cover it -ciao

Don't think Banksy was wandering our streets overnight, but anybody seen what this guy is referring to? (My piece about the movie and other graffiti matters here.)

He has been here before. There was one on the outside of the now-gone Pande Cameron building across the street from the Paramount which went up about the same time as the "Elephant in the Room" show was up in LA.

There's a rat by the south east corner of the fountain in Cal Anderson. I figured it was just some unimaginative Cornish kid.

Fact: The current global art scene is NOT a big deal.

The rat has been there for months. It was unimaginative.

I like him. He's not a god, just a good human with great creative ideas. He inspires me to pursue that which I am passionate about. For that I applaud him. If you look at his stuff and think "Meh.", then move along and find what does salt your biscuit.

I wish Banksy could tell me why so many people feel the need to use the superfluous adverb apparently.
