"PLAY WE MAY BUTT WHEN NEEDED WE COME STAMPEDING PROWD AMERICANS READY"

Posted by on Mon, Apr 19, 2010 at 11:20 AM

Over the weekend, Slog tipper Michael found an amazing document on a Tea Party Patriot forum. It's tea poetry! Here's a screenshot:

Thank you so, so much for sending this, Michael. If you have trouble viewing images on your browser, the full text is available after the jump. It is all (sic). In every sense of the word.

I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW
BLIND OBAMA
YOU HAVE WAKEN UP A SLEEPING GIANT
WE THE PEOPLE UNITED WE STAND
AS ONE NATION
TO SAY NO
YOU MUST GO
WE THE PEOPLE SAY
NO YOU MUST GO
IMPEACH OBAMA
AND BRING HIM TO JUSTICE
IMPEACH IMPEACH
BRING HIM TO JUSTICE WITH ALL THE OTHER TRADERS
TO WE THE PEOPLE AND THE CONTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF
THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WHO STAND TOGETHER AND WILL NOT FALL
PLAY WE MAY BUTT WHEN NEEDED WE COME STAMPEDING PROWD AMERICANS READY
TO FACE ANY ENEMIES FOREIGN OR DOMESTIC
WE THE PEOPLE SAY
THE CONTITUTION IS IN OUR HEARTS
ONLY A TRUE AMERICAN KNOWS ITS TRUE PATH AND WILL DEFEND UNTIL DEATH
YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOW'N FREEDOM WILL STAND FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE

I wonder what happens more: people who don't know what "impeach" means demanding impeachment, or people who've never read the Constitution invoking it as their justification for, you know, whatever.

Also, my favorite part is "KNOW'N." It's like the... poet... once saw the lyrics to The Star-Spangled Banner and decided, not knowing how words work, that to write stirring patriotic American poetry you just need to put extra apostrophes in things.

Interesting. I actually wonder how much of the Tea Party's illiteracy in comments like this is actually intentional, a form of poetry. Sometimes I'm curious if it's actually the work of critics creating art through reaction - a work of satire that reveals its real message in the responses it garners.

Then again, I'm sure a great deal is not.

@5: Yeah, but being a self-described "prowd american" doesn't make you cool, either.

So nice of them to honor poetry month.

They could have said it better in a sweet, short, and simple haiku.

It's no coincidence that an inability to articulate one's ideas comes with a rather narrow range of simplisitc ones to articulate. People who can't speak clearly don't think clearly. Did Sarah Palin write this poem?

Ecce, Ecce, Ecce - if you're going to continue with the ad hominum attacks, how are you ever going to get all those sympathy comments from people when the same tactic gets used on you, you insufferable nutter?

And seriously, I'm sure you were told during your out-patient interview how important it is for you to READ the dosage requirements on your meds and take them ON TIME. Because, this is exactly the sort of thing you were warned would happen if you DON'T.

This is exactly why I'm suspicious of the poll that found tea baggers to be "more-educated" than the average American. Maybe when asked about their level of education, the tea party people equate age with level of knowledge. Who the hell knows....

Impeach Obama? On exactly "what" grounds? What the fuck gives? I truly am at a complete loss as to the level of stupidity the minions of the hard-right has become.

These people just keep tipping the wacked-out scale with each new day.

And a recent survey finds that Tea Baggers are more educated than the average American. God help us all.

Ignorance is Bliss. Obviously there are some things that need to be changed, but by using ignorant, unintelligent, and spiteful words you not only do not help your cause, it merely makes it look more foolish. The center will always run politics, don't forget that, and do not assume by writing statements like this one, it is going to gain support from the center, if anything it is going to move us further to the middle. I am so tired of the far right and the far left, get over yourselves democracy is about compromise, so start doing it.

You know, I hear about these "far-left" people, but for the love of God, I never seem to know of any, hear of any, or see news of any. Certainly not as far-left as those that are to the far-right.

Can someone direct me to these phantom "far-lefties" so many of the far-right people are talking about? I'd like to be able to confirm their very existence.

@24 - Doh! How could I have forgotten? LOL

Dark and lonely on the summer night.
Kill my landlord, kill my landlord.
Watchdog barking - Do he bite?
Kill my landlord, kill my landlord.
Slip in his window,
Break his neck!
Then his house
I start to wreck!
Got no reason --
What the heck!
Kill my landlord, kill my landlord.
C-I-L-L ...
My land - lord ...

@ Ecce Homo:

*an
*righteous
*fuck-pig

Also, commas are used to separate strings of descriptive words (called 'adjectives' when they modify nouns, and 'adverbs' when they modify verbs), and the first letter of each sentence is capitalized. Hyphens are used to connect two separate words used in a singular descriptive insult, like "self-righteous" or "fuck-pig".

"You're an irritating, smug, self-righteous fuck-pig".

TIFIFY. You're welcome.
