Glenn Beckwatch: A Fearsome Rain of Haiku

Posted by on Wed, Apr 7, 2010 at 4:28 PM

Some folks at the Jewish Funds for Justice have arranged to protest Glenn Beck's recent claims that people should leave their churches if their religions are into "social justice" because that's code for "Communism and Nazism." They are protesting by sending Beck's Twitter account one haiku per minute for 24 hours, and they are calling the protest "Haik U Glenn Beck." Sample haiku:

thanks, but no thanks, glenn
i think i'll stay with jesus
that commie hippie

"You look like Glenn Beck"
Somebody once said to me
Then I grew a beard

Beck loves his Bible.
He's read every word except
Matthew Twenty-five.

What is that sniffling?
Poor Circus Clown of Foxland
Cry us a river

You can send Glenn Beck haiku by entering it in the box on this website.

Beck, you’re trying to thwart me again! (My goal: to keep the shitty people in the churches and get the good ones to leave, not the other way around. If his rants work and the only people left in our churches are the ones that actually care about social justice, then they might just start to seem like noble institutions again instead the of the cults of “Hey! You! Stop asking hard questions!” that they truly are, and their hopeful eventual demise will be put off that much longer.) Damn you, Beck!

It's nice to see conservatives finally inching toward admitting that Conservatism is their real religion.
