The Seattle Times reports that Congressman Adam Smith (D-9) is also undecided on how he'll vote on health care reform, making that two Democrats in the Washington delegation who still need to be persuaded.

Smith has already been hearing a lot reform from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce about why he shouldn't vote for health care reform. The conservative group is running ads in his district as part of an expensive national campaign against the bill.

Want to tell Smith to ignore the Chamber? Here are the numbers:

D.C.: (202) 225-8901
Tacoma: (253) 593-6600

if you listened to KUOW this morning you wouldn't be as worried as it appears you are.

If you want to email Smith, the site is here:
http://adamsmith.house.gov/Contact/
You have to put in a 4-digit zip code within his district, but 98166 0001 seems to work.
He also has a healthcare survey site here:
http://adamsmith.house.gov/Forms/Form/?I…
but several of his possible "yes" answers to "Do you believe Congress needs to enact health care reform?" seem like he could might count them as "no" answers, like "Yes, but not the way the current bill is written."

I can't believe I'm going to write this, but...

According to Ezra Klein's retweet of Lizzie O'Leary's tweet, "Undecided Dem Adam Smith tells me he likes CBO #s"

It looks like the CBO report will give Smith enough cover to vote yes. Doesn't mean he's decided yet, but he looks to be leaning the right way. It certainly wouldn't hurt to prod him along though.

He's probably getting some pressure from the teabaggers, but I figure he'll vote YES. Wouldn't hurt to give him a call anyway.

You know what else I thought of? Why not go ahead and call Republicans? I don't know why we're not aggressively doing that. Pretend their votes are in play.

Sure, they'll vote NO, and sure, you shouldn't waste time on that if you have an actual potential vote to call, but they shouldn't get away with hurting the American people like this without at least hearing that someone thinks they're being an idiot.

have any of you wondered why the obama crowd are so desperate to get this passed? and why so fast even at the cost of scrapping the constitution? just what do they stand to gain? i fear we are all fucked if they get their way. we don't know whats in this 2,700 page mostrosity nor will we till the guys in black shirts start rounding us up , and taking our shit away ,and possibly our lives. if in the future this passes , and we are still alive. will we even get to vote again? if we do we can be shure that no one involved will be in politics after november. the irs involvement alone which includes monthly checks to make shure you bought government approved health insurance , or face fines , imprisonment or both should scare the shit out you all by its self! you can be shure that you will look back on this day , and wish you had done something to prevent this bullshit before it's too late. knowing you i bet you won't , and will just take it in the ass for the rest of your lives, your childrens lives , and their childrens lives. god help us!

In addition, both the Constitution and the pronoun "I" should be capitalized. You also capitalize the first word of a sentence, acronym designations such as IRS, and God. You have drunk too deeply of the Cool Aid my friend. Way too deeply. I don't believe for a moment that you have even read parts of the 2,700 "monstrosity", but I have talked extensively with objective and non-partisan people who have, and I have read parts of it myself. There is absolutly nothing in your tirade that even remotely approaches the truth, let alone common sense.
