No kidding. No one should ever be allowed to speak again about that "weaker sex" nonesense.

Oh come on, you'd think the art critic would know a Photoshop when she saw one.

"Lost that hand?" Hell, she's lucky if she still has a head.

I am woman, hear me roar
In numbers too big to ignore
And I know too much to go back an' pretend
'cause I've heard it all before
And I've been down there on the floor

Photoshopped. Badly.

Look at the lighter, pixelated halo around the hand and the fact that there's a small dent in the headrest where the halo paints over it.

Still, it's pretty funny.

Sir Vic 12
This serves as a reminder why the West should not be afraid of radical Islam, or whatever term you want to use for it.
No culture or society can truly succeed if they enslave half of their population.
America has been successful because we allow all citizens to contribute & prosper. (At least, on paper we do) Our level of success is often closely tied to the level of freedom enjoyed by fellow citizens.

I wonder if Iranians even consider giving the finger to be an obscene gesture?

#2 'The weaker vessel' is a Bible saying based in one of many Biblical notions that Men are the head of Women, just as the Christ is the head of Men. I'm shocked you object to it.

Odd how this incriminating halo doesn't affect the rearview mirror on the other side of the finger.

High JPEG compression is not the same as shopping.

If the Iranians overthrow their Islamic masters it would be a finger in the eye of those who think Islam should rule the world. Now, if only we had the courage to jail the pope.

i dont think its photoshop-ed - the reflective car hood and the bumper - both have pretty convincing reflections. as for her hand - @The Amazing Jim - its the thumb on top her index finger which makes it look like a extra joint - jpeg compression!

How do you know its a woman? Could be a skinny boy.

I applaud the woman's bravery, but if the photo's not faked, I shudder to think what the Iranian thugs did to her afterward. If she still lives, she probably doesn't want to be alive. I've heard plenty of torture and rape horror stories in Iranian prisons.

ha, ha, is it only a joke?

Guys, I'm sorry but that photo is a fake. It's just a photomanipulation. A bad one.. If jou look closely at the car's bumper, there's no reflection of the woman.
You can also notice the cutout around the woman (there's a faint line of white pixels around her body). And more, lighting of woman and car is completely different.

Sadly it's a bad work of Photoshp.. Raoul Pop, I'm sorry but it's a fake.

If this photo is faked...and the woman in it (whom I'm sure the Iranian gov't knows the identity of just because she stood in front of the vehicle) didn't do this...and the picture travels the world 10,000,000 times and embarrasses the Iranian gov't...who do you think they are going to take it out on? The clever little photoshopper? No. The innocent woman? Yes.

Nice.

This isn't real!! Even if it is, it's great to leave people free on their opinions...Iranian president is a great man Kicking asses of American bastards! Fu*k you all USAns!!!

By the way I am Asian but not Iranian!

I knew it was fake because Iranians don't use middle finger to flip someone off!
I don't know why...but we use thumb for that purpose =)

just stop being stupid. the middle finger is used with a depreciative meaning in Europe and almost every ex-colonies of European countries - that does include America but does NOT include Iran. In fact, in Asia only some countries, like Japan, India and Macau (now belonging to China), were European colonies (Japan was British, Macau and India were Portuguese). Furthermore, this gesture is used in the Middle East in the same way we use index finger to point things. the photo is fake, coming from an original photo in which the lady has the hand with a gesture asking the Iranian president his blessing.

Unfortunately to the world but fortunately to the lady, this is no more than a joke.
(also, if this was true, media would have explored this much more.)

Actually it is not common in England where a V sign would be more prevalent and the single finger considered an american insult not British or Colonial

Actually, it is not common in England where a V sign would be more prevalent (from the days when Archers used to flip the V to the french who used to cutoff the bow fingers of archers they caught) and the single finger only imported more recently from American pop culture. So whilst recognised as an insult it is not not British or Colonial. In other countries there are various other hand/arm gestures that mean similar things.

If it isn't photoshopped... Definitely she did not get jailed for expressing herself, unlike the journalist who shoe gated Bush and got arrested and tortured. So much for Western Freedom of speech!

looks photoshopped to me.. unless she has an articulation in the middle of her forearm.... look carefully... her forearm goes in a direction and just where her sleeve ends, it goes up in another direction... her forearm is also much longer than it normally should...

I don't know about the use of the finger as an insult in Iran, but there IS a reflection of her on both the bumper and the vehicle hood. But I do see that her arm changes direction at the end of the sleeve. .....It's quite an image though.
