Art Where You Eat

Posted by on Mon, Mar 15, 2010 at 12:23 PM

The Commandant of Seattle art, Charlie Krafft, was meandering around Georgetown Art Attack Saturday night, looking menacing as ever. Well, not really: But still, I couldn't resist taking this badass photograph of this badass.

Commandant!

A series of his Curious Picnic Plates is over at Ouch My Eye (where the nextJune show will be devoted to breasts).

Krafft's dare: Eat off this.

Corin Hewitt's art plate is a reminder of where your food came from in the first place. Sometimes I swipe a bite from mine and reveal a worm underneath.

Ouch My Eye's name and logo would appear to be a dig at Dale Chihuly. Does Mr. Krafft have a reaction to the siting of a giant Chihuly gift shop in Seattle Center?

Charlie looks like he went to ComiCon dressed up as "the cleaner".
