In case you missed it yesterday: In honor of "Read an eBook Week," I'll be reading two chapters a day of Cory Doctorow's science fiction novel, Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom, and reporting on them in the afternoon on Slog.

If you'd like to talk about the book, it's not too late for you to join in. Just download the ebook for free here (there's a variety of formats available) and read the first 2 chapters over your lunch break. (They're pretty short.) The post will go up around 2 pm.

Is this one less preachy and annoying than "Little Brother"? If so, I might give Doctorow another chance, but otherwise I'm not sure I want to spend any money ... wait, bandwidth, I guess ... on him.
