Please join me, Lindy West, Jen Graves, and Paul Constant for three and a half hours of world-class gawking and bitching.

Preview question: What are YOU going to break when Hollywood decrees Sandra Bullock is the year's Best Actress?

That won't be the worst of it... in every Sandra Bullock movie trailer for the rest of our lives, we'll have to hear things like "SPEED 7...STARRING ACADEMY AWARD WINNER SANDRA BULLOCK!"

But but but - she's America's sweetheart, dontcha know.

Truthfully, as long as Avatar doesn't win, I'll be happy.

If she wins she'll be divorced in the next year or so. There's that Hollywood curse you know.

If she wins I'll break my vow to take the Oscars so dead-seriously it sucks away the fun.

Anybody know if the internet will have a stream of this? The TV will be locked on a college basketball game.

Gawking and bitching about billionaires on the television screen is much higher priority than going to a reading by the Stranger Literary Genius. Face it, the Stranger Literary section is fucked. It's about popularity and money and ass kissing. Paul Constant is a stand-in for any host of Entertainment Tonight, Extra, Maury Povich, etc.

If she wins, I will push her down the stairs.

She seems like a nice enough person, but...seriously?

@7: Stacey Levine is also reading this Thursday at the Hugo House. I'll be there. Will you? And I've been to two of Pilot Books' Small Press Fest events this month. How many have you been to?

Speaking of fun, Sandra won Worst Actress at the Razzies last night and showed up to accept the award! Video of her acceptance speech and acute analysis via Dlisted:

Best Actress award? Meh... who cares?

Of the ten Best Picture film nominees, I've only seen Inglourious Basterds, The Hurt Locker, Avatar, and District 9. I'd love to see District 9 win, but I'd be happy with Basterds winning. Neither Avatar nor The Hurt Locker were best picture contenders, imo. They were both good, but not best picture good.
