Found in a Seattle Parking Lot: Sexy, Hoaxy

Remember this shopping list? The one with the "XL cucumber" and "butt-plug for Walter" and "Hamburger Helper"?

It was a hoax. From Slog tipper Caren:

Hey Brendan,

I wanted to let you know a friend of mine found the exact same note in the Goodwill store on Dearborn. Someone is having a good time leaving these around!

cheers,
Caren

The list seemed a little too narrative to be true. ("For Walter?" Who'd write that on a shopping list?)

But it was fun while it lasted.

Obviously the person who wrote the first one and lost it had to make another list, and um, lost that too.

Or maybe somebody in Dearborn reads Slog.

I find great comfort knowing that somebody out there is trying to pull things like this off. They just got greedy. Let's hope this means they will only get better at it!

They likely want to get their note into Found magazine.

Too bad, and here I thought Walter was really going to be enjoying himself.

Well, except for the HEMI problem...

Do both parties still have their respective copies of the note? Because right now I see no reason why they couldn't be one and the same.

It's the kind of hoax that make the world a little brighter.

Aw, too bad. Aside from the old-timey names, I found the list totally believable.
