Glenn Beckwatch: "I Went to the Library, Where Books Are Free"

Posted by on Tue, Feb 23, 2010 at 11:21 AM

Jon Stewart's response to Glenn Beck's CPAC speech, in which Beck slammed Teddy Roosevelt, complained about progressivism being code for socialism, and attributed his anti-socialists leanings to the library, is dead-on:

I'm also a sucker for bearded people from alternate universes, so there's that.

What kind of a Glenntard doesn't know where libraries come from?

this is is more sinister than it is stupid. Republicans successfully turned "liberal" into a dirty word in the 80s, and now they're working on the word "progressive." They can't be allowed to succeed.

We pay taxes for that library, Glenn Beck!

If you don't like it, move back to your homeland of China!

I think it's time that someone produced a reality show where a bunch of teabaggers, pro-Beck, or any of that ilk are placed in an isolated 'town' and made to live by the crazy guidelines they've been enspousing.

The ones who didn't die, either from their own stupidity or by the 'laws' of their fellow 'citizens', would probably quit.

That isn't to say that any of them would learn their lessons, but if the rest of the country could see what putting those ideas into practice would result in, maybe it would open up a few eyes.

The idea that this pig-fucker would trash Theodore Roosevelt (who won the nobel peace prize, started the National Parks service, invited the first African-American guest to the White House, and refused to protect his own children from serving in WWI) pisses me off.

I'm sure all SLOGgers know a coke burn-out or two. Glen Beck was a half-wit asswipe before he went on a multi-year coke binge. You don't just rebound from that as a smarter person. You become a heavily damaged person who thinks that mormonism makes sense.

@8: that don't sound like a bad idea after all. Well see how many of them can survive w/o the help of taxpayer funded services. And the rest of the country can see what a mess their system is compared to what we have now.
