One Button Bob: A Good Way to Waste an Entire Day

Posted by on Mon, Feb 15, 2010 at 1:20 PM

With every level in One Button Bob, your mouse click does something different. Sometimes you have to hold it down to make Bob go, sometimes you have to click it over and over again, quickly, to help him get across pools of lava. Can you figure out the secret in each level before Bob dies?

Play One Button Bob.

Warning: Once you start, you won't be productive for the rest of the day.

Cool game! I really like games that utilize the one-button gimmick in novel/varied ways.

(Although, not to be one of those Why Do You Suck At Games people, but ...it's not a rest of the day game. I beat it in less than ten minutes, in 847 clicks, and that was WITH taking a really long time to devise a working strategy for the last boss.)

The strategy for the last boss:
--Realize that clicking changes your forward-backward direction.
--Realize that the balls come in predictably-timed four-shot volleys.
--Don't try to get too many hits on the monster on each volley.
--Pay almost-exclusive attention to the rhythm of the shot volleys, and your position relative to the shot volleys. Pay no attention to the monster, except to avoid collision, or to your boomerang. As long as you're avoiding the volleys, you're probably hitting him. Don't get distracted by the noise or flashing or rapid dying you'll be doing. It will probably take a lot of tries.

Another fun flash game revolving around button clicks is Cursor*10. Really addicting and unique approach to a flash game. "Cooperate with oneself" indeed.
