Superbowl XLIV: It's today; it's in Miami; New Orleans Saints vs. Indianapolis Colts; Slog will be covering it live.

Boeing's 747-8: The company's largest plane is expected to make its first test flight tomorrow.

Pierce County sheriff's deputy: Shot and killed a burglary suspect after the suspect attempted to run down the officer in a car.

The Tea Party plan: Hold less rallies, and win more elections in 2010. (You might also consider losing the Revolutionary War outfits.)

"America is ready for another revolution!" says Sarah Palin, speaking at the Tea Party convention.

U.S. vs. Iran: Ahmadinejad has ordered his AEO to produce fuel for a nuclear reactor. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said it's not too late for sanctions.

Ukraine: The Presidential election was held today, and was being widely viewed as a "public verdict" on the 2004 Orange Revolution in that country.

Soda/Pop tax to curb obesity and fund healthcare: It's dead due to significant lobbying efforts on behalf of the beverage industry.

Toyota vs. Congress: Committee hearings begin on Wednesday regarding an investigation into the automaker's safety issues.

Alastair Campbell: Tony Blair's former communications chief says Blair did not mislead Parliament on Iraq.

Sarah Palin is the same old Republican HOGWASH! Pushing lies and failed policies, and determined to give America to the corporate thieves.

Corporate thieves? Get over it. Sure, a lot of the higher-ups have no conscience, but just about all of us buys into it. Think of the Asian sweatshop labor kids who went into furnishing Savage's cozy hotel bar.

just a conspiracy theory to float: was New Orleans granted some governmental football money as payback for the Katrina mishap? A fairly meteoric rise for the Aints, dontcha think? I thought something similar when the outofnowhere Marlins won the World Series late 90s.

Tea Party is what the Republicans started as...small 'r'evolution against high rents and entrenched establishment.

The batman/pacman vids would be funnier done by improv everywhere, or another troop more interested in making people laugh than knocking shit over. I'd hit them with a golf club too.

@2, that's the most insane conspiracy theory I've heard in a long while, right up there with the idea that the government induced the Haiti earthquake.

Good luck with managing your mental illness.
