The Morning News: Special Election, Olympics, Coffee, NAMBLA

Reminder: Don't forget to mail in or drop off your ballot for Tuesday's special election. It's for the children.

The Olympics are almost here: The flame will be at the Washington border Tuesday morning.

Also in Olympics: Mass protests are going to be held in opposition to the Games' "corporate culture".

He was in the bushes: A bank heist suspect eluded police for 12 hours by hiding in the nearby bushes, and then returned to the bank to find his car keys.

I just want my latte: A coffee stand in Bonney Lake is now offering a subscription service to view live webcam footage of the "scantily clad" baristas while they work.

Oliver North speaks crazy-talk: He thinks that NAMBLA members will enlist in the military as soon as DADT goes.

Fox News: Paying for and building a television studio in Sarah Palin's living room.

Gay Marriage: Even when it will soon be legal, the controversy of it is not over (in Mexico City).

We should do this in Seattle: A North Oakland cafe is asking patrons to leave their electronics at home and actually chat with each other this weekend.

The West still skeptical: Iran continues to give us all the run-around.

I wouldn't exactly call him Batman (best parts at 0:35 and 1:40):

There's a NMBLA. What is NAMBLA?

Someone did do that in Seattle... in 2005. Pretty much exactly that:

i love how the macho men in the military are able to "defend our freedom" and other such horseshit but are scared to death of being raped Teh Gaez, something the wimpiest straight man who "has never served" has known isn't a threat since they were 18.

Some dope in a bat costume approaches people in the dark and rushes them??? Doesn't he know about guns being hidden on people until they feel threatened? What an asshole....

He did raise a very important question, no matter how much focus other things get. "Do they get government housing?"

Yeah, man, like it's all about the love and the people and like people getting together and just like talking and stuff....

Part of the rationale is to discourage patrons from buying a $2 cup of coffee and spending all day using a table that could be taken by a customer purchasing lunch, visiting with friends or otherwise spending money and then leaving.

@3 - My first reaction was "Okay, douche, you're smart and you can recall NYT articles from five years ago. Whatever." Then I noticed it was you, Savage. Oops.

i feel a little guilty for laughing at the bat guy, because that's a pretty fucked up thing to do to someone.

At least, we wouldn't have to worry about the pedos hitting on other members of their platoons.
