Want it gone permanently? Get the votes in Congress. Obama has a mighty pen and will sign repeal...but the bill has to make it to his desk.

How about The Stranger help out?

How about they give out the Congressional Switchboard number (which is, by the way, 202-224-3121). How about they give out the direct numbers for Senator Murray (202-224-2621) or Cantwell (202-224-3441) or Representative Jim McDermott (202-225-3106)?

How about posting the URL for the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network-- http://www.sldn.org/ --where we can help get this done?

Or is this all too constructive and contrary to Dan "Is Obama a Political One-Night Stand?" Savage's favorite meme, placing not blame on Moses-Obama (who was apparently singlehandedly supposed to lead us to Queersrael) but instead challenging us to do some of the heavy-lifting?

How about some help gettin this policy gone... or is The Stranger only interested in throwing stones?

Oh thank GOD the homomessiah Andy Niable is here! We'd never know about SLDN, Lambda Legal, Lt. Dan Choi, Lt. Col. Victor Fehrenbach, the origin of DADT, a rough count of how many have been discharged, the most ironic class of solider discharged and so on and so forth.

And thank you for the numbers of our representatives and senators! And thank you for helping us find a number for Congress! What would we ever do without you?

DavidC@10, I have a problem with the way the question's phrased. Are the choices "repeal DADT" and "protect the military"? Seems like either way you vote it's the same thing--repealing DADT would be protecting, or at least helping, the military. Although, with all those guns and tanks, you'd think the military wouldn't need protecting.
