Violent Teabaggers

Last Saturday morning, Seattle police responded to a report of an assault and robbery in the University District. A man who had been waiting for the bus told officers that four men had just assaulted him, a police report says.

The victim claimed that while he was waiting for his bus, four men walking by across the street started to throw "used tea bags" at him. Police say the man "was able to dodge the tea bags from hitting him." The man at the bus stop—the teabagee—threatened to call police if they threw another teabag. But the men lobbed another one at him. "As he was starting to dial 911, the four subjects ran across the street in his direction," the police say. One of the suspects threw a punch at the victim, and missed, but subsequently "swung approximately three more times to the back of the victim's neck until he dropped his cell phone to the ground." The assailant then took the victim's phone and all four men took off running northbound up University Way NE.

As a witness was giving officers a statement, officers identified men matching the suspects' descriptions nearby. The victim identified three of the suspects—the fourth one was not found—who were arrested and searched. Although officers did not report finding any teabags on the suspects, they did find "three glass smoking pipes with possible marijuana residue."

If they were laughing hysterically while throwing the teabags, it was probably pot residue. Otherwise, probably crack.
