Economy Seattle Revisits the Glorious '90s

Is this the return of Seattle? The pre-WTO Seattle? First Starbucks and now this:

Earnings: Rosy results from Microsoft (MSFT, Fortune 500) and Amazon (AMZN, Fortune 500) may help sustain stock gains. Microsoft posted profit and sales that topped estimates after U.S. markets closed Thursday. Amazon also reported better-than-expected results.

Seattle? Well it sure beats raising cattle.

Although they're not still headquartered in Seattle, I think you can add Boeing's swing to profitability to the tally.

Fucking corporations, making profit, providing many high paying jobs that help pay sales tax for such crazy things like public transit.

Yeah, those fucking corporations!! They should have just folded the day after the WTO riots!! Yeah, that's what they should have done!

To be fair, "better than expected results" for Amazon in the nineties meant "lost less than a billion dollars this quarter". They turned their first profit in Q4 2001.
