Hah! Roach Banned From GOP Caucus

Posted by on Fri, Jan 29, 2010 at 4:43 PM

The Seattle Times has the story:

State Sen. Pam Roach, R-Auburn, has been banned from the Senate Republican caucus after colleagues told her she has repeatedly mistreated staff and should get counseling to manage her anger.

A letter sent to Roach by Senate GOP leaders said an internal investigation had concluded "it would be best to physically separate you from the caucus staff and from other Republican Senators while we are working on the floor."

This was a long time coming. And you can never hear Roach's infamous "flowers" speech too many times.

Sen. Val Stevens and Sen. Pam Roach would make a perfect lesbo couple.

This is a richly deserved honor for Sen. Roach. One time, when a citizen was testifying before her committee on hispanic issues, she said in Spanish, "I have a gun in my purse".

She's nuts. I'm just surprised it took the Republican caucus this long to do something about her.

And just think, her district is filled with people who love her and think she's doing a terrific job.

@2, that's priceless.

The aptly-named Roach is an absolute local gem. You cannot make people like her up. She's a legend in her own time.

given the amount of verifiable source material, there is a real lack of this information on her wikipedia page.

Fnarf @ 6: Well, if the Democrats could find somebody/anybody DECENT to run against her, she'd be out, believe me.

This is the best Roach's last opponent could do

(this ad was so stupid, of all people, JAY LENO recently made fun it)

And you wonder why Roach keeps winning?

@9, I think it's the other way around. No Democrat with an IQ over 70 is going to run against her until she dies.

Wow, an abusive violent psycho is the loudest voice against assault rifle legislation during the hearings last week.

Shocking.

Washington, we have a gun problem, and this woman what the loudest voice during the hearings last week against it.

And people listened to her.

Even though she is so psychotic her own party bans her from the building.

She reps Auburn, Enumclaw, Buckley, Bonney Lake, and a whole lot of nothing. She's xenophobic, homophobic, and an asshole. OF COURSE they love her.

Jessica, maybe you could walk me through how making assumptions about every person who lives in four cities isn't xenophobic.

I mean, maybe THEY are all like that, but isn't that precisely what you're talking about?

Or maybe it's only bad when THEY do it.

That would make sense.

@15: I don't really think it's reasonable to take from Jessica's post that she believes everyone who lives in those four cities is a xenophobic, homophobic asshole. I mean, nowhere in any district of any democratically elected government body are people elected by a unanimous vote.

Rather, the community leaders and political activists in any community tend to determine the direction that elections go. And an electoral decision requires only 50% + 1 of votes cast. When you realize that it a little influence by a few self-assured jerks can decide an election, you also realize that blaming Auburn for electing morons doesn't mean that one thinks everyone in Auburn is a moron, but merely that Auburn has a lack of high-profile opposition to its morons.
