What's the guy in the bottom center doing? Reading the paper? I'm sad to see "no puking" -- this would NEVER do up the road in Cancun, where puking is obligatory.

It took me a while to figure out No Smoking while standing and peeing.

No peeing standing up and no barfing. Why?

It was reasonable enough until the last one. I never thought anyone would ever try to use a toilet like that. Why would that position even occur to someone? Even if it was someone unfamiliar with western toilets, it does not seem like an honest mistake.

So they're agnostic about standing on your head while peeing?

All possible permutations FAIL.

Joque?

You Look Like I Need A Drink! 8
Well I'm certainly guilty of the one in the lower right corner... Who knew it was a no-no?

@6, I think pretty much the same reactions would obtain if the sign were spotted in Pike Place Market.

@ #2 - Personally, I find it completely disgusting when I walk into a toilet, only to find that some guy stood up pissing, and pissed all over the seat, and didn't bother to wipe it off. Or better yet, if you want to stand, use the urinal.

As my mother used to say, with 4 boys growing up in my house:
"If you sprinkle
when you tinkle,
Be a sweetie
wipe the seaty."

Right. Because everybody knows Mexicans are too dumb to know how to use a toilet.

No flushing the TP, either.

@ 3, that one's the funniest picture because of what you said. Do people ever try to pee like a dog, and if so, would they ever do it into a toilet?

@11 - maybe the signs aren't for Mexicans. Maybe that's why they're pictures instead of words.

I would think the one in the lower left was absurd, except that I have occasionally seen footprints on toilet seats. Apparently some people actually do this. One hopes not with high heels.

One more reason I love Mexico:) Feel free to cruise down the street, a ballena in hand with your toddlers bouncing about in the back without seat belts or car seats.. But PLEASE use appropriate restroom etiquette.

For #4, #6, and to some extent #2, I'm assuming the only reason people would voluntarily attempt those maneuvers would be if someone had already caused some nastiness that caused them not to want to come in contact with the seat.

@15: Standing on the seat might seem sensible to someone who was used to the squatting sort of toilet.

The sad thing is my immediate reaction was to want to attempt each of these maneuvers to try to figure them out...

@6: O sí, solo los mayas son los que no tienen tasas de baño en casa, ¿verdad?

Me da carcajadas cuando los mexicanos nos critican por ser racistas cuando ellos mismos son peores que nosotros.
