Feeling Gravity's Pull

Posted by on Fri, Jan 29, 2010 at 10:14 AM

Dejobaan Games are the clowns behind last year's surprisingly fun, awesomely named AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! — A Reckless Disregard for Gravity, which added jumping off really tall buildings to the list of bad things video games have inspired us to try. Aaaaa! is a rather cheap $9.95 now, but in even better news, Dejobaan announced their next Big Thing: a music-based falling game (or falling-based music game?) tentatively titled Musorqua. The rough promo video makes it look like good, trippy fun:

There's no release date yet, and it looks like they've got plenty of work left to do still—but they were able to squeeze a fat wad of complexity into a game about jumping off buildings, so this could be a gem.

The Stranger Testing Department is Rob Lightner and Paul Hughes.

People were jumping from tall buildings way before video games.

Just ask any New Yorker about the Great Depression and the crash that preceded it.

I blame the NY Times crossword puzzle.

Thanks for the kind words about Aaaaa!. I hope we do awesome and inventive things with our next title as well. We're about to enter the Gamma IV with a quick, cropped-down one-button version of the game for fun. :)
