Three events today.

Rick Posner reads at Elliott Bay Book Company. Lives of Passion, School of Hope is about an experimental school.

Revolution books is hosting a lecture from Bob Avakian. Last week, I said that Avakian's lecture was a two-part affair. Tonight is part three of the two-part lecture, which will tie women's rights in with the Communist revolution.

But the reading of the day is at Open Books in Wallingford. Paul E Nelson reads from A Time Before Slaughter, "an epic poem re-enacting the history of Auburn, Washington." How can you not want to go to that? It's epic poetry, it's history, and it's a tiny part of Washington state that you never think about.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.

Never been to Auburn, CO? That's what a book cover avatar might do under cap hill's reservoir.
