Which local politician announced The Constantines at Neumos during NFTN 2009?
The winner will be announced in tomorrow’s NFTN Slog post.
Got any ideas, hotshot?
So you think you are a music expert, huh? Think you can do a better job booking than NFTN booker Mamma Casserole? Well, you can’t, but our ears are wide open! We are a community-based festival, and we would love to hear your ideas. Make a list of bands you want to see at NFTN 2010, or even 2011, in the comments to this post. If they pass muster, and we don’t have to compromise Jeff Henry’s no-sleeping-with-agents-to-get-bands rule, we will do our best to get them to play!
Speaking of bands and rock stars, we invited some past NFTN performers to wax poetic about their favorite NFTN moment on this very post! And wouldn't you know it? They came through.
BRENT AMAKER & THE RODEO
Man, we had a blast at the [2009] festival! Not only was it rewarding to contribute to the cause, but it was cool to see some of Seattle's best artists playing shows all over town. Our show was at the Comet and the crowd was ready to rumble. Brent Amaker and the Rodeo are known for their live shows which are well attended by rowdy whiskey swillin' fans. This time around the surprise came from an audience member. During our set, a member of the B.A.R. Brigade (the unofficial Brent Amaker and the Rodeo fan club) jumped on stage and started dancing. She was behind me while I was singin' and I didn't find out until later she was whipping off her top. I think people thought it was part of the show, but this girl came out on her own to support the band. Now we've had this happen out of town, but Seattle-ites don't usually get naked at our events. Thank you Noise for the Needy. Thank you girl with stickers on your nipples.

We only think it is appropriate at this point to compare this to the stellar underwear-laden performance of Partman Parthorse frontman, Gary Smith during their 2008 NFTN performance at the Comet.

Something about the giant red glowing “C” seems to coax clothing off…

SEE ME RIVER
We've been fortuitous enough to play some really awesome shows with some really awesome bands for a really admirable cause. It's a great feeling to be working with the community for the community. Not to mention the last NFTN we played, Grand Archives accidentally left a case of their records in our merch tub. So it was a win/win for everybody.
