Today is National Pie Day! And to celebrate, a new bakery in town, Mini Empire Bakery, will be offering up free mini pies from noon-5 pm today at Porchlight Coffee on Capitol Hill. Porchlight is located at 1515 14th Ave and Mini Empire's pies come in flavors like Cranberry Pear and Bourbon Pecan. Yum!

If you want to make your entire day about pie (as you should), here are some more pie-loving options to consider:

Curio Confections
Pies & Pints
Shoofly Pie Company

PIE!

I am so all about pie.

However, it strikes me as a bit lame for us northerners to have Pie Day in January. No rhubarb, no peach, no strawberry, no blueberry. These are the essence of pie.

PS - Butter crust all the way, baby.

I doubt that Pies & Pints is celebrating this confectionery holiday.

I doubt that Vegans are celebrating with pies.

Butter crust ftw.

I made Tarte au Sirop D'Erable/Maple Syrup Pie as my "national origin" dish for a community game night. If I'd known today would be pie day I'd have asked to keep some.

This is nonsense. Everyone knows that Pi Day is 3/14, and should be celebrated at 1:59 (approximately).

Bah on your math bullshit. This is about PIE. What kind of a math geek are you anyway, if you don't like pi AND e?

Good call on the Stella Marrs, Megan!

Ok, I don't really care about pie all that much, generally, but MAPLE SYRUP PIE?! OMFG^infinity I have to go find a recipe for that right fucking now.

Jesus, I have the same cat in striped something with the colonel sanders bowtie, with the same phrase, just different lettering on a postcard! Got it in Boulder. I'd never seen it anywhere else. Very cool.

I stopped by. Enjoyed an apple chai mini pie. Very good, with very tender and flaky crust. A+!

Too bad this wasn't posted like yesterday when I would've had a chance to read it before free pie deal ended.

Megan, I believe you have yet to report on the Nutella truffles. *tap tap tap* That's the sound of my foot, Missy.
