And it's on display over in the comment thread of my story abut how Michael Schechter lost 138 pounds, says commenter lottie33.

Among the things discussed in said thread: the sexual prowess of Michael Schechter, the relative difficulty of being overweight and male vs. overweight and female, whether "the only people who don't get comments from the people around them when they gain 100+ pounds are people with money," and whether losing weight is as simple as changing your diet and exercising (which would make losing weight via gastric surgery—as Schechter did—"weak"). As in:

As someone who's lost more than 100 lbs, it IS as simple as changing your diet and exercising. Getting the surgery is just weak. Sorry, but it's true.
