I Am Bringing Books to Slog Happy

As you already know. Slog Happy is tonight. As you also know, I bring a ton of advanced reader's copies to Slog Happy with me for you to have for free. This month, my tote bag runneth over with books for you. Here's a tiny fraction of what's coming:

Bubble Gum and Hula Hoops: The Origins of Objects in Our Everyday Lives, by Harry Oliver; Peter & Max: A Fables Novel by Bill Willingham; How Shall I Tell the Dog? and Other Final Musings by Miles Kingston; and Filter House, by local sci-fi author Nisi Shawl.

So right there, we have a novel spin-off of a popular comic series, a sci-fi collection, an uplifting book of essays by an author with pancreatic cancer, and a bathroom-friendly trivia book. And that's not even a quarter of the books I'm bringing. If you like young adult novels, literary fiction, or disco, I've also got a book for you, too. Plus, as they say, more!

Filter House is a great collection of sci-fi/fantasy(ish) shorts dealing with more Afro-American topics. I ADORED it; at least three of the stories had me wishing they were expanded to novel form.

What if we don't live in Seattle and can only make Slog Happy in SPIRIT!?

Can we get a book too?

Another night I am sad to live in the Virginia suburbs.

I know we're not allowed to call dibs, and I will do my best to be on time, but I really want the Fables book. Pretty please.

you're giving away Filter House? in spite of the hideous cover, that collection is remarkable.

@6, yeah I know, I just wanted an actual FREE paper book. Doesn't look like I'm going to get one though.

How is Peter and Max? I'm a total crackhead for Fables but I haven't been too interested in the novel as of yet.
