Cops Catch "El Teo"

Posted by on Tue, Jan 12, 2010 at 11:56 AM

From the LA Times:

One of Mexico's most wanted drug cartel bosses was captured early this morning in the Baja California port city of La Paz, according to Mexican and U.S. law enforcement officials.

Teodoro Garcia Simental, believed to be behind a campaign of massacres, beheadings and kidnappings in Tijuana, was arrested by Mexican federal authorities without firing a shot and flown to Mexico City.

... During his reign, hundreds, perhaps thousands, of Tijuana residents moved out of the city to avoid being kidnapped, more than 42 police officers were killed and more than 1,400 people died in drug-fueled violence.

The other lead story on the LAT's homepage right now?

"The way it exists now is harming our youth,'' [assemblyman Tom] Ammiano said. "Drug dealers do not ask for ID. We need to regulate something that has gone chaotic, has resulted in carnage. I understand it's not everybody's cup of tea.''

"The way it exists now" isn't just harming our youth—it's harming entire cities, states, and countries.

Well, now that we caught him we can just sit back and watch drugs go away.

Right?

While I agree that legalizing pot needs to happen. The cartels are still going to exist from smuggling cocaine and heroin and meth, they are easier to smuggle and are more profitable. Whatever dent we can put into their profits doesn't hurt, I suppose.

lol. change the i to an e and he becomes Teodoro semental or teodoro the stud/breeder. my guess is that he was working for the sinaloa cartel the whole time. Those cowboys, along with the mexican army, are taking over the drug trade.

"Drug dealers do not ask for ID."

Yeah, that's what is harming our youth! It has nothing to do with "our youth" getting locked up in prisons for smokin' a blunt or slingin' some dimes on the street, right? The most dangerous part of cannabis culture is the police!
Before prison: a peaceful pothead.
After prison: a violent criminal!
Department of "Corrections"!
