Dead Man Found Floating in the Lake Washington Ship Canal

Posted by on Fri, Jan 8, 2010 at 8:26 AM

Seattle Times:

...A citizen reported seeing the body in the Fremont Cut, just west of the Fremont Bridge, at about 3:45 p.m., Seattle police spokeswoman Renee Witt said. ...[T]he body is that of an adult male in his 30s, and police at the scene estimated it had been in the water for quite some time.

It is not known how the body ended up in the water.

Anyone who has seen the opening of this film, a film based on local police reports, will know exactly what I'm thinking. But there is no death like the death of a city. When it was alive and thriving, it was a secret city for Soviet submariners.

Thanks goes to Chris "kid icarus" Fronek for discovering the secret city.

Somebody presumably jumps off the Aurora Bridge, and it becomes an opportunity to plug your movie?

That wasn't really a city, or town, Charles, that was a military base. And abandoned military bases are nothing new, or significant.

Wasn't that movie originally titled "Pompous Douchebag Bloviates in Two Languages in Vain Attempt to Shore Up His Self Esteem" ?
