During the New Year's Eve festivities around 2:00 a.m., a woman flagged down a Seattle police officer near the intersection of East Pine Street and Boylston Avenue and told the officer that a man assaulted her, a police report says.

The woman had been waiting in line to buy a hot dog from a street vendor at 1500 Broadway, when "an unknown Asian male pushed his way to the front of the line," the report continues. Decidedly breaking from the Seattle norm of passive-aggressive silence, she informed the man "that he had to wait like everyone else." He then turned around and "punched her in the head two times," and promptly fled on foot. Police could not find the suspect.

I really hope the woman got a free hot dog. She deserves it.
