A Challenger for Patty Murray

The most recent talk has been of Susan Hutchison mounting a "credible" run for Democratic Senator Patty Murray's seat this fall.

But today, according to SeattlePI.com, another rumored Republican contender has made it official: Clint Didier, the former Washington Redskins tight end and recent teabag rallier, will challenge Murray.

He runs a hay farm, owns a dirt moving business, and helps coach his alma mater Connell High School in the town north of Pasco.

Of course he does. But can he outrun a three-term-incumbent mom in tennis shoes?

Look at all you yapping girlymen. You're so afraid to unlock your lips from patty's boob all you can do is mumble. Look, she took office just after the S&L bailout only to cause another one herself. Her 'single mommy' pandering has helped grow the welfare/daycare class to gigantic levels yet all you can do is whine that you're pretend free-ride is in jeopardy. I'm not excited by any of the right winging challengers so far, but anybody is going to be better than this give-away granny who's now worth millions thanks to her sellout pandering politics. Stop whining and find an independant to run or it's going to be a right winger her takes over her throne

@3 Shocking, many NFL players do not wear protective cups, especially on team photo day. The steroid abuse shrinks the nads so much that there is little to protect.

If the Republicans run that guy Patty is sure to win, Patty might not be the best, but if all the republicans are going to do is run tea baggers this next cycle I'm really doubting their ability in our state. I think it's rather sad, I'd rather they run some kind of libertarian, they'd have a much better shot. I think other states are more competitive for these kinds of people, he might win the rural vote, but the rural vote never seems to pull through. :p

Short answer: No

Long answer:

1) this guy has zero name recognition in Washington State

2) he has zero experience in politics whatsoever besides cutting checks and being a “Tea Bag Activist”

3) he has no experience as an elected official

4) he is to the far right of moderate Republicans (the only Republicans who have a chance at winning state wide here)

5) He doesn’t have that much money (he’s no Mike McGavick). (Does anyone know how much he does have?)

6) according to the latest finance records in September, Senator Murray has over $4.6 million cash on hand with no debt. 65% of the money she has raised has come from individuals (not PACs) and 62% has come from within the State of Washington.

7) as of September, Mr. Didier had raised $0.

I foresee problems. Am I the only one who automatically hears "kiddie diddler" when I hear the name Didler?

Um, Lord Basil, I take it you don't remember what happened to the last Republican who thought he was going to "slap Patty silly." Can you say Rod Chandler? Can you say has-been? I thought you could!

Cool your jets, mo's. Click on the link to his website and you'll notice the hotness has, um, waned a bit in the last 30 years. Also, reading a single sentence on that webpage is an immediate boner-killer.

A credible Republican would sound a lot more like other Republicans who have won statewide offices in Washington, and a lot less like a Ron Paul droid.
