Another Year-End List

Posted by on Thu, Dec 31, 2009 at 8:46 AM

I'll be in KUOW's Weekday this morning helping the show make and review its list of the top news stories of the year.

You know: the inauguration of Barack Obama, the death of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the end of Greg Nickels and Susan Hutchison, the rise of Mike McGinn and Dow Constantine, the awesomeness of the Sounders, the defeat passage! of R-71, the terror of the swine flu, the arrival of the light rail, the unbearable endlessness of health care reform, the accused criminals—Isaiah Kalebu (accused South Park murderer and rapist), Christopher Monfort (accused Seattle cop killer), Maurice Clemmons (accused Lakewood cop killer x4)—the relocation of Elliott Bay Books, the audacity of Sarah Palin, and the guilt of Amanda Knox.

That's 94.9 FM, starting at 10 a.m., if you want to listen. And if you want to add to the list: oh, look, a comment thread!

You guys have talked a lot about all of these stories before.

I kind of hope there's something new in the discussion. Maybe a "most undercovered" story or a prediction for the "top story of 2010."

why is the 60 vote rule like this hidden subject....we can't get change if we have the 60 vote rule. Obama actually told CNN this wasn't his business. As a result, he concedes we shall be governed by the likes of Ben Nelson (that is, NEBRASKA) forever into the future. NEBRASKA. Not the urban archipelago which is the majority. THIS is why we don't get what they got in Denmark France Canada Sweden etc. etc. etc. WE are NOT a democracy; they ARE.

I really hope you don't talk about the defeat of R-71 since it passed.
