For Your Post-Lunchtime Enjoyment

Posted by on Tue, Dec 29, 2009 at 1:03 PM

I just watched Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead again last night, and this scene is so goddamned good:

You should play Questions with someone you love tonight. What else are you going to do?

Its amazing how quickly I can disagree with you and then turn around and find you to speak such truth.

Gotta love Tom Stoppard's work. Another enjoyable cinematic game is to watch Terry Gilliam's Brazil and try to figure out which bits of dialog are Stoppard's, which are Gilliam's, and which are Charles McKeown's.

This is my favorite of Stoppard's plays. I think I need to find it and watch it again soon.

"Hamlet" in "The Twilight Zone"! It's fucking GREAT! Heads...heads...heads.

Someone as rhetorically nimble and hotly fey as ol' Gary O should host a public version of this game at a bar or theater on Cap. Hill.

Funny coincidence, I just watched R&G for the first time two nights ago. Gary Oldman and Tim Roth are two of the best actors around.

God, I love that movie and haven't seen it in over a decade. Thanks for posting that taste, Paul. Gary Oldman was so damn sexy in it too.

I really enjoy the movie but it's a fantastic play to read as well.

I wonder why play directors feel that the actors must move around the set ceaselessly in order to make a conversation interesting. It doesn't help me not to hate most plays.
