Cantwell to Speak on Health Care Reform

Posted by on Wed, Dec 23, 2009 at 3:43 PM

We just got an e-mail from the Cantwell people telling us that Maria Cantwell will be making floor speech at 7 pm EST on the topic of "health care reform."

Ladies and gentlemen, start your C-Span 2.

UPDATE: It's over! You can find more on the senators from Washington state and why they think this health care bill should pass here.

Omg she just told the ENTIRE COUNTRY we already have a public option in Washington. I am worried we are going to be invaded as a communist country.

Yes, #1, that was John McCain's point.

And if he had been elected, we would have a government funded public option already.

If Washington state's two senators had their way, the massive health care reform bill they will vote for Thursday morning would have looked far different.

It would have included a clear-cut, government-run health care option. It would have included far less restrictive language on abortion and done more to rein in runaway health care costs.

If they had there way? They could have had there way. Lieberman had his way. Nelson had his way. Countless other Senators had their way. All they had to do was threaten they wouldn't vote for the damn bill and they could have gotten what every they wanted. Lame excuse. This bill is weak at best and a corporate handout.
