Christmas Light Hero

Posted by on Mon, Dec 14, 2009 at 1:28 PM

Christmas is all about hysterical excess, and special effects dude Ric Turner went full-on hysterical for his lights display, syncing them to the Guitar Hero track "Cliffs of Dover" and making his house fully playable. Check out the kid's cute, too-cool smile, plus his little skippy fake-guitar dance around 1:30, and do not miss the eruption of ROCK AWESOME at the end:

Make has the goods on how he put it all together.

The Stranger Testing Department is Rob Lightner and Paul Hughes.

A house located west Seattle is broadcasting its own radio show of christmas music and the lights on their house flash and blink to the music.
Just pull over and tune in on your car radio for some christmas fun. the house is on SW Charlestown St. between 40th & 39th ave sw. between 6-9pm
The rest of the neighborhood is done up pretty nice too.

in time for the season...

Awesome! That pretty much encapsulates my relationship to Internet. And my early-20s love life.

I feel incredibly inadequate now. There's no way my blue icicle lights can hold a candle to that.

It's awesome, but I will say the one set to Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "Wizards In Winter" is one of the best. Wish I know how to do it (because Carol of the Bells/Sarejevo 12/24 would be fucking awesome to program lights to!)
