Money: The U.S. Senate's $1.1 trillion dollar spending bill will move to a full vote today after a 60-34 vote to halt a Republican filibuster.

Victory: Voters in Houston elect an openly gay woman as mayor.

Finally: U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley denounces Uganda's proposed "kill the gays" legislation.

Weapons: Cargo plane traveling out of North Korea, containing more than 35 tonnes of weapons, was seized by Thai authorities.

Knox: She's scared to be in jail.

Snow: Don't expect much (tonight) if you're in the Seattle area.

Tearjerker: Forza Coffee, where four Lakewood police officers were gunned down, reopens. From the article:

As 8:14 a.m. approached Saturday outside the coffee shop where four Lakewood police officers died two weeks ago, more than 100 people had already lined up, waiting to infuse the room with hope and love to counter all the pain.

Mexico: Drug cartels have siphoned overly $1 billion dollars worth of oil in the past two years.

Speaking of snow, several flurries fluttered down around 9:30 this morning, only lasted about 5 minutes though.

That arms shipment confuses me about as much as Rachel Maddow's Friday interview with that NBC "tech expert" repeatedly stating that communicating by saving web mails to drafts folders will bypass US Internet monitoring.

Everett received flurries starting sometime before 9am. Up north it was much more however the roads were pretty good and that confused the hell out of me when I saw I-5 and its many crashes along side the highway.
