Today in Photos of Smiling People That Kind of Make You Want to Cry

Posted by on Thu, Dec 10, 2009 at 10:22 AM

This is an entirely different emotional universe than Dan's instigating post, but today RadarOnline.com published this snapshot of Chaz Bono, "the daughter-turned-son of Cher and the late Sonny Bono, snapped smiling from ear-to-ear, as a friend dropped him off at his West Hollywood home on Wednesday."

Did you ever see Chastity Bono looking this happy?

The photo of Paris Hilton crying did far more for me.

How much of that happiness is from the gender switch, and how much from just getting rid of that incredibly abusive name "Chastity"?

This one is going to be a big time activist now. And, with fame built in, most likely very effective.

And, yes, he looks all better.

@Fnarf, you are right this time. Plus Chastity's dad got killed by a tree.

I would smile every day if Cher was my mom.

@5, cuz if Cher was your mom you'd be filthy rich?

I find it totally douchy the way folks can't support Chaz's gender transition without pointing out that he's a big dude. I think he looks super hot, mostly because he looks really happy and healthy and is very honest with himself.

I'd buy him a beer.

Are you sure that's not a picture of Kevin James?

Well, fat people are jolly.

It's a shame he went through all the trouble of having a penis constructed when he himself will never lay eyes on it.

@12,
Nah, go to a gym locker room (male locker room, obviously) and you'll see all the cocks you want, not that I'd imagine Chaz would want to, but anyway.

Today's moral: Happy fat people drive not-so-happy thin people insane.

Also, no one can deny that 14 is funny.

@10

We'd make fun of his giant jughead if she never became a man - why make an exception now?

(Also, kind of ruining my moral: The comment from COMTE, who is a big guy himself. Today's moral: Morals suck.)

Bit late to add a comment, but I have to say that he's pretty good looking, especially for someone of size. I'll have to find some pre-transition pics for comparison.
