3. This reindeer just hung around being hella majestic, as usual.

I don't know about Norway's monarchy, but Denmark's monarchy has approximately zero power. And they don't even get the benefit of being filthy rich like the British royalty.

As for the light display, I got a fast response from Les Cowley at Atmospheric Optics:

"It is a tumbling or spinning rocket either venting fuel in a jet or it has its motor still firing. The growing spiral of material is scattering the high altitude sunlight.

This video shows the spiralling motion of the rocket.."
