Housekeeping Slog Happy Is Next Thursday!

I know Slog Happy is usually the second Thursday or the month, but this month it'll be the third Thursday, December 17th, so it has one extra week to be extra super awesome. Because not only is the next Slog Happy the two-year anniversary of all Slog Happys (Happies?), but it's also (by popular request) the second annual Slog Happy Gift Exchange!*

That's right, just like last year we're going to celebrate the holidays/Slog Happy's anniversary by giving each other presents—cheap presents, free presents, handmade presents, presents someone gave you but you don't want anymore presents. It's going to be a blast.

And it will all happen Thursday, December 17th, at the Nite Lite from 6-8 pm. They're located at 1926 Second Ave, and they have Christmas decorations everywhere and a fireplace and darts and cheap drinks for you drinkers!

They also have a great happy hour food menu (from 4-7 pm) with $1.50 chicken or beef tacos, $2 fries, $4 cheese quesadillas, $5 cheeseburger with fries and much more. And what about the drinks? Well the drinks are cheap too—$2.50 wells and $1.50 PBR (and after seven they only go up a whole quarter).

So to recap: Slog Happy! Two-year anniversary! Gift exchange! Nitelight! December 17th! 6 pm! PRESENTS!

Last year, I got an autographed polaroid of Joh doing his best Matthew McConaughey impersonation. I treasure it dearly to this day. You don't want to miss this.

*You don't have to participate in the gift exchange to come to Slog Happy. You're more than welcome to just come and hang out as well. Your presence is a present. Aw!

Hmm. I'm a serious fan of white elephant gift exchanges, so this would be a great chance for me to actually come to one of these things. I'll see what I can do. It's a serious shame that we pared down our crap before we moved to Oregon, because I had an awesome unicorn statuette that would have been perfect for this.

I LOVE the Nite Lite. I've been going there since some of you sloggers were still a gleam in your father's eye.

I'm leaving the next afternoon on the Empire Builder, bound for Minneapolis and points south, but I might be persuaded to stop by. I know I always say that, but I might have been there anyway, so why not?

Matthew McGoughney impersonations are relatively easy for any guy, take your shirt off and flaunt it. Impersonating a polaroid camera for the evening would be humorous.

AND this is my birthday slog!!!!!!!!!!!! I will definitely be there, hopefully with an excellent white elephant gift. :D

Oh, almost forgot: Nite Lite is CASH ONLY, and the ATMs there charge like $3 to withdraw. On the upside, there's a BECU a few blocks away, and I've gotten tanked there on call liquor for under $25. The drinks are strong and cheap.
