I Love A Subtle Comedy

Posted by on Mon, Dec 7, 2009 at 11:22 AM

The title alone—The 40-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN Who KNOCKED UP SARAH MARSHALL and Felt SUPERBAD about It—should get the Mark Twain Prize.

Thanks, MovieLine.

But, um. It's not parody. It's not satire. They don't deconstruct anything. It's imitation. They're pretending to lampoon comedy by making more of the same kind of comedy. Why would anyone do that? Other than to make easy money without working hard or having talent.

Yeah, kind of dumb. the birthing of some dressed adult with a phone is ok, just wish he'd said, "Can you freaking hear me now, asswipe!?"

The only thing funny about that preview was the title. And even then it wasn't all that funny. Seriously- this is not trash. This is the refuse that trash craps out after eating trash mixed with trash. Unfunny trash mixed with trash.

You guys know I'm kidding about thinking the title is funny, right? The title is the stupidest thing I've ever seen, with the contents of the preview coming in a close second.

Mr. Schmader, sometimes you say things in jest and I think you're serious. Maddening.

5: I considered adding a "Seriously," to the first sentence—would that have helped? I only like to be maddening on purpose.

I didn't laugh at all during that trailer. But then again, I'm an atheist.
