A Second Gay Bishop Elected by American Episcopalians

Posted by on Mon, Dec 7, 2009 at 8:56 AM

It's nice to see that progressive Anglicans aren't being intimidated by the ranters, haters, and schismatics.

I'll be passing out free hugs to all the Anglicans who cross my path today. Bless them.

Throw in some free kisses too and I'll consider becoming an Anglican.

It works backwards in the Episcopalian church. Because what's meant by "ranters, haters, and schismatics" is the non western Episcopalian churches, especially those in Africa, but the label certainly doesn't apply (in the mind of gay advocates at least) when the hating and ranting is used to intimidate governments in Africa who have a different view of homosexuality.

It's nice to see that progressive Anglicans aren't being intimidated by the Bible's condemnation of homosexual behavior.

5, Or Bible's condemnation of shellfish, pork, women speaking in church, or holding authority over, and or teaching men. They ignore that rapists must be forced to marry their victims, and must never divorce them.

@4 of course we're a little backwards, that's why I love my church so much!

@5 Thanks for that, you beat me to it!

I can't wait to see what the ex-bishop of Pittsburgh has to say about this, I'm sure it will make the local news soon enough.

These guys have always been inspiring profiles in courage when it comes to political expediency-
they got their start giving Henry the divorce he craved;
and then another,
and then another,
and then another,
and then another,
and then another,
and then another......

Sorry, all religion is screwy in my book. I really don't care who they include or exclude, it all reads like nonsense.

I mean, if you're going to be a 'make it up as you go' godless heathen at least have a little integrity about it...

16, No denomination really adheres to the Bible. They pick and choose and ignore what they don't want to follow. All have changed with the times.

#4 Yeah, poor Uganda, being picked on for ethnic cleansing. Clearly we should follow their example and do some ethnic cleansing of our own. Top of the list should be screechy black hypocrites...
