The Morning News

Posted by on Wed, Dec 2, 2009 at 8:57 AM

It Takes a Village to Help an Accused Cop Killer Elude a Statewide Manhunt: "The team of people accused of helping Maurice Clemmons following the shooting of four Lakewood police officers has grown to six."

Obama Speaks on Afghanistan Plans: And U.S. Rep. Jim McDermott is among those who were not impressed.

13 Years in Prison for World's Worst Dad: After he drunkenly, 'accidentally', and fatally shoots his 6-year-old daughter in the face.

Everybody Hates Chris: 63 percent of polled Washingtonians disapprove of Gov. Gregoire.

Count Your Blessings, Greedy Bitch Litigious Citizen: "A Duluth woman is suing the federal government because a letter that she wrote to her son stationed in Iraq was returned with "DECEASED" errantly stamped on it."

Not Everyone's Tough Enough to Shoot Their Friend in the Face: Dick Cheney slams President Obama for projecting 'weakness.'

I Can't Believe I Voted for Her: Marilyn Monroe caught smoking pot.

As the quest to list the decade's best music continues, here's one of my favorite songs of the '00s, set to footage—why not?—from Sergei Eisenstein's Battleship Potemkin.

This is perhaps the first time I have completely agreed with Rep. Jim McDermott:
No matter how many troops we commit, the United States cannot bring about the change necessary to stabilize Afghanistan. This responsibility ultimately falls on the Afghani government and its people, and no outsider can force this change to occur.

'errantly stamped' vs. 'erroneously stamped' - discuss...

4: Yes, considering the zillions of parents/wives/husbands who get non-errant DECEASED letters and wouldn't consider suing over their actual losses. Would this woman be happier if the stamped mail were accurate?

A government falsely telling a mother that her child is dead with a stamp is horrifying, even if it was just a clerical error. Can you imagine the shock and the grief. I cannot. Politely disagree with her litigiousness if you want, but "greedy" and "bitch" are waaay over the top.

That clip shows MM smoking something, but marijuana--gimme a break! Whoever spent half a million bucks on that was a damned fool.

And 13 years for that guy who shot his daughter? I hope his appeal is successful--a new trial should get him the 50-to-life he deserves.

From Battleship Potemkin Wikipedia "As a propaganda film, Eisenstein declared his wish that the score should be rewritten every 20 years, in order to retain its relevance to each new generation."

Holy shit, that one pal of Clemmons's was an accomplice BEFORE the fact. He's going to get the death penalty for that.

@9,

I'm fine with it as long as a vasectomy is part of the deal.

Barack Hussein Obama is not a President - legitimately or otherwise. He still hasn't proved his eligibility to be CoC, which is frightening, since he his sending our troops into battle. Further, he had to be dragged kicking and screaming into making this paltry decision by a great general who asked for more.

I think he is deliberately sending America on the course of defeat so he will have an excuse to dismantle our military (and allow homosexuals to serve) and have our enemies leading us around on a leash. This man hates America. He was born believing this country is unjust, racist, imperialistic, and wasteful, and from his earliest conscienceness made it his mission to destroy it. There is no other explanation for what he has done since 20 January, and that is why America's survival depends on hard traditionalists sweeping the pot smoking marxist homosexuals out of Congress next year, and taking up arms against the government if BHO finds his excuse for imposing martial law!!!

@17- I was thinking it was a rather butch woman. I like thinking about Marilyn Monroe cuddly with two chicks and getting high.

@18:-Just watched it again. I think you're right! Sure wish a lip reader would tell us what she's saying there! And her eyes--maybe she IS high, but that cigarette is sure not very convincing as a joint.
