Way back in May, I watched The Yes Men Fix the World at SIFF. Here's part of what I had to say about it:
The thing that saves this movie from becoming a Michael Moore-style proselytizing headache is the Yes Men's commitment: They hang around long after things become awkward, and it's that Ricky Gervais-ish commitment to a joke, no matter how painful the experience becomes, that makes the movie work as a comedy.
If you missed the movie at SIFF, you'll finally have an opportunity to catch it starting today, when the movie begins a week-long run at Northwest Film Forum. One of the Yes Men will be in attendance this weekend. (Does it matter which one? I can't tell them apart.)
I recommend it. It's approximately ten thousand times more entertaining than most of the smugly self-satisfied anti-corporate films you've watched in your life. Here's a trailer:
