State Dinner Party Crashers

Posted by on Wed, Nov 25, 2009 at 9:21 PM

A couple that wasn't invited crashed Obama's state dinner last night in honor of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Memo to all the prominent, pissed off Indian Americans who weren't invited—you clearly should have just walked on in.

Somebody has to do the scut work - as best I can tell these were the gay couples at the Obama White House State Dinner for Singh. Apparently Lingvall is Geffen's boy toy according to one website. It appears that a majority of the male/female couples are not married to each other. Apparently Rachel Maddow did not make the cut, nor Dan - but it'll happen - they simply cannot keep stylish gays away from gorgeous dinner parties where glans mauve rules as the predominant color motif.

David Geffen & Jeremy Lingvall
Fred Hochberg, Export-Import Bank & Thomas P. Healy
Chris Hughes & Sean S. Eldridge
Bradley Kiley, Office of Management & Administration & James Coley Jr.
Jim Steinberg, Deputy Secretary of State & Sherburne Bradstreet
Richard Trumka & Paul H. Lemmon
Urvashi Vaid & Kate Clinton

Sherburne Bradstreet? Suppose he's a WASP???

Fact check correction: Sherburne Bradstreet is a woman - just love those androgynous names - why are nomenclature-oriented parents so cruel?

So you don't have to work on Thanksgiving day, here is the poop on Jeremy Lingvall - sat at Obama's table no less with his 66-year-old dextrose-papa.

@3,4, 5 What on earth makes you think that Dan Savage would make the cut? He's a fucking SEX columnist, not anybody of importance. And a bad one at that. Rachel Maddow on the other hand is a Rhodes Scholar. A far better representative for the gay community than the knee-jerk, politically naive, and wholly misinformed rants that Savage provides.

They'll get their own reality show eventually.

Rhett, I'm awarding you ten million points for using "glans mauve."

Christopher,
I read the account. I think its great! Truman Capote used to have party crashers at his parties. He used to write about them. I love it.

India’s Prime Ministers $195,000 “Sorry Gift”…

Friends,
I thought this might be something worth looking at. Contact has been made with White House staff concerning This past Friday's event. The White House hosted a "gala event" for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of India. The success of the event seems dwarfed by the media's attention over the two that attended without an invitation (the Salahis) . It has been suggested that a timely "Thank You" gift to the Prime Minister be given in a way that would create maximum media attention. Timely because it will refocus attention back on the significance of the event and the stronger relationship our country enjoys because of the Presidents efforts. And timely because Christmas is almost upon us. Specifically, a gift to the prime minister of monumentally significant historical proportion that will further endear him to the U.S. and our President AND redirect the media's and Americans attention back to the true nature of the events intended purpose. The gift - a rare, precious, priceless (in Indian thought) antiquity esteemed to carry with it unusual blessing & goodwill to the possessor. It is presently available on eBay: Auction Item #: 360199484025 and being considered, by the White House, as an ideal choice for just such a gift.
