Teabaggers Turn On Palin

Posted by Dan Savage on Fri, Nov 20, 2009 at 12:48 PM

This is pretty delicious...

I guess the Noblesville, Indiana Going Rogue book signing didn’t go very well yesterday because 300* or so of the 1000 people with wristbands were asked not to tread on Sarah Palin and then she tried to make a getaway with Baby Trig and several duffel bags full of cash but wingnuts have learned to protest about everything these days, so they were having none of it. This is the best thing you will see about horrible, horrible Sarah Palin on the internets all day and until the end of time.

Go to Rumproast to read angry comments left on Sarah Palin's Facebook page by some real disappointed real Americans.

She has a bus? With the book cover painted on it?

Again, Dan... Why do you post so much shit about Sarah Palin yet ignore the lgbt rights movement in your own neighborhood? How in the hell will we (even you, Dan) win equal rights if all you do is promote Sarah Palin instead of the lgbt rights movement?

But what about the even bigger question?

Weather is always sin-related, so why was it cold and rainy for all these patriots and salt-of-the-earth plain folks attending this magnificent event? Why didn't God send up an overarching rainbow and summon up the blue birds to style the Lizard Queen's 'do?

I thought you were different, Sarah, but you're no better than all those Liberals who are subject to the vagaries of fickle climates and crowds of easy marks throwing away money they can't afford to lose.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was done on purpose. Get some people upset, get media attention, then roll back into town in a week or two delighting even more people.

This crowd is Red State pathetic....retail money spent on a unreadable book almost entirely available on line, hours taken off from work/school with 100s of others seemingly with the mindset of Ed Grimley (Martin Short) as he contemplates his appearance on "Wheel of Fortune"... Maybe Sarah will wink at me....

Celebrity book events nearly always end with disappointment, because there are always more people who want to see the famous person than there are hours to accomodate them. I'm curious as to the set-up of the event itself: this may have been the usual deal, or there may be some unusually poor planning involved.

Such things aside, though, it's fun to watch people be disappointed in the crazy woman for being like any other high-profile narcissist.

Don't you see, she's STILL going rogue. It's her thing.

Wake me up when they're mad about the content of her book instead of not getting her autograph.

If were her I would be very, very careful. Jilted fan one day - stalker the next.

Hey, if this is what it takes for Red State bumpkins to realize this is how the GOP treats them ALL THE FUCKNG TIME, then maybe it's a good thing after all.

I'm with Julie on this one... She has her own bus? That's just so... Not what I imagined. Chauffeured upscale automobile? Yes. Teabagger-Campaign-Style super bus?

Her rogueness is just so rogue.

Looking at all the assorted facebook comments swearing to return the book or never support Palin again or whatever, it struck me how fairweather a lot of her supporters seem to be. But then, I suppose if the poor excuse for a politician you've put all your faith into has no real substance, it doesn't take much to lose that faith.
