Going Rogue: Andrew Sullivan Takes His Time

Posted by on Wed, Nov 18, 2009 at 9:07 AM

There's been nothing new posted to Andrew Sullivan's blog this morning. Usually there's a dozen or more posts up by 10 AM. But this just went up:

This is only the second time in its nearly ten-year history that the Dish has gone silent. The reason now is the same as the reason then. When dealing with a delusional fantasist like Sarah Palin, it takes time to absorb and make sense of the various competing narratives that she tells about her life. There are so many fabrications and delusions in the book, mixed in with facts, that just making sense of it—and comparing it with objective reality as we know it, and the subjective reality she has previously provided—is a bewildering task.... There is a possibility here of such a huge scandal that we would be crazy not to take our time either to debunk it or move it forward for further examination. We have only one commitment: to get this right. Please bear with us as we do the best we can.

Fingers crossed.

Because the wingnuts will drop Palin like a hot rock once Sullivan points out all the falsehoods in her book.

When was the first time the Dish went silent? When Sullivan was sucking George Bush's dick?

So Levi Johnston may actually be telling the truth. Wouldn't it be great if the 19-year-old baby daddy ruin's the Republicans 'Jesus with a pussy' career all together. She and Carrie Nojeans can replace Paris & Nicole on some MTV reality series.

Go for it.
Get it all out.
Way before 2012.
Clear the way for Romney.

Be patient. He's taking the time to connect Palin to Toryism and anti-Disraeli sentiment. His post on this will change...everything.

well that’s good, i'm glad that tool Sullivan is engaging in fact checking, something he did not do when he was a slimebucket for the republicans where every day he eagerly promoted the sliming of bill clinton, shooting first and checking later, and even receiving an award for all the lies he published, which he then admitted were lies, but didn’t give back the award.

Im glad, he is after Palin, though she is an easy target, but deep down sullivan is still a conservative anti tax tool.

Sullivan has gone insane over Palin. We're not parsing a treaty here. He went through a similar phase with Hillary Clinton during the primaries. You would have thought Clinton was Satan if you went by his his blog.

Palin is a bad joke that will soon be forgotten. She is a big deal to the extent he wants to make her a big deal.

I'm a big fan of Sullivan and I'm glad he's keeping up the attack on Palin. But he better come up wth something better than her little white lies like whether she consulted with her kids about accepting the VP slot or whether she first watched Tina Fey's impression with the sound off.

Really glad to see she is cashing in on all of this. What are the general reasons y'all dislike her so much?

@12: She's an incredibly vapid and ignorant person who truly believes she was suited to be vice-president, if not president, of the United States.

@12: Her gender.

We're intimidated by it, and it's shocking that she could get by so far on her incredible truthfulness, dedication to her job, integrity, honest concern for the well-being of this nation and respect for the position of President.

Curse those chromosomes.

Andrew's friends need to have an intervention. He's absolutely right about Palin on all counts, but he's gone on one of his crazy obsessions - as he has done with Hillary Clinton, as he did during his phase of wanting to bear George W. Bush's children, etc.

he's a smart and talented guy but sadly he's really just a few skips up crazy lane from turning into Glen Beck or the WorldNet Daily guy.

FUCK ANDREW SULLIVAN!

How pretentious is that bullshit little teaser? 'Only twice in ten years'...oh fuck off.

'we want to get this right' = then stfu until you have something to say

@15,

This. I follow Sullivan's blog pretty constantly and hate Palin as much as the next sane person, but he's truly gone off the deep end with his Sarah obsession. Honest to God, it's like every day he comes up with some new inconsistency and tries to turn it into a scandal, when at this point every one who would care is already convinced she's a liar, and everyone who isn't convinced she's a liar doesn't care.

@14,

And she's prettier than all of us, and we're jealous. Also.

@12 can't speak for everyone, but I dislike her because she ran for national office on the premise that some Americans are more American than others.

@4 - What's up with the apostrophe you put in the word ruins? Were you trying to make a contraction?

Why not? Levi has plenty for both.

Sullivan is pond scum - and I can't see why his posting on anything is of value. If he had not been elevated to "gay activist" by the mainstream media, he would be driving taxi somewhere, getting a better tip because of his charming accent.

Palin is the best combination of news-entertainment to come along in this century. No person of any intellect with less than far right politics thinks she is serious.... about anything.

Funny in weird ways, interesting to watch her fumble and I hope she runs for president..... what a debacle that will be.

Don't be scared of Palin! She would only be elected president in the United States of Stupid (ie, all southern states plus Alaska).

Sarah Palin is actually going to be in my little hometown on Saturday, book signing at Sam's Club.

I wonder if I could get her to autograph a copy of Who's Nailin' Paylin for me?
