Looking Back on Lou Dobbs

Posted by on Fri, Nov 13, 2009 at 10:53 AM

Jon Stewart took a few swipes at serial anti-immigrant zealot Lou Dobbs on last night's Daily Show, including this zinger: "Nothing says honest and straightforward better than a surprise announcement that you're quitting for reasons you can't explain to do something you can't discuss." Enjoy.

I look forward to seeing his fat ass on Faux Newz in a month or two. Who will stand up for us oppressed white males?

Lou Dobbs is a meglomaniac. But he is not anti-immigrant, he is anti illegal immigration as far as I can tell. I'm on the liberal side of things, but too often people make themselves look stupid when they confuse the two. You can disagree with his approach to illegal immigration, argue that illegal immigration is not that big a problem, but don't make the leap from anti-illegal to anti-immigraiton.

Unless there are examples of him being anti-immigration I don't know about--I don't really watch his show...

The thing is, is that his rhetoric goes beyond illegal immigrants and causes him to sound anti-immigrant as he tends to lump all Latino peoples together - both illegal and legal.

This is the best video I can find on how his POV's on immigration can be misconstrued. In other words, Rick Sanchez breaks his ass off something:
