Why Fail When You Can Succeed?

Yes yes, FAIL Blog has brought us hours of schadenfreude-rich pleasure, but to commemorate the first full day of Mayor-Elect McGinn's triumph, let's accentuate the positive with SUCCEED Blog.

To the right is the Hair Sculpture Succeed. Here is the Obama Sushi Roll Succeed, and the Spaghetti Packaging Succeed. See the full roster of success here.

(And for a fabulous Dance Party Starting Succeed—filmed at the Northwest's very own Sasquatch fest—head over to Line Out.)

P.S. This was featured on FAIL Blog but like many FAIL Blog readers I consider it a success.

"Succeed" sounds kind of dumb. Especially since failblog has already popularized "win" as the opposite of "fail." Dance Party Starting Succeed is pretty cool, though.

Yep, the opposite of fail is "win". Always has been, independent of Failblog.

"Succeed" just sounds awkward.

Love this blog. Succeed is way more the opposite of fail, in all but the most chronically-hipster vocabulary. Hipsters.

Yeah, in real life, the antonym of fail is succeed. But, in funny-pictures-on-the-internet (and, incidentally, in corporate speak), the antonym of fail is win.

And, Schmader, have you been talking to my mother?

I don't care what you call it, that hairstyle is going to give me nightmares. Daymares, even.

I like "succeed." It's not a "win" because many of these are not happening in a contest, nor is life itself a contest. And it has always bugged me how many "fails" where actually brilliant successes.

That hairstyle is hideous. Definitely a big FAIL.

Succeed blog would be a lot better if it wasn't rife with photoshops and fakes.

@10- It succeeds on it's own terms. It an incredibly good sculpture of a dog made out of hair on a person's head. Is that a good idea? That's certainly debatable, but you can't say they didn't succeed in accomplishing a difficult and unique task.
