Targeting Cops: Someone left a threatening note when they burned three police cars on October 22nd; is it connected to the Halloween shooting? What about this guy, who was arrested at the Lock and Keel Tavern in Ballard after making suspicious comments about the police?

Suspicious Fires: There were three fires this morning, and two of them were near the big Greenwood fire on October 23rd.

We Still Don't Have a Mayor: Here are the most recent election results

During the holding-out-for-a-hero vote count interstice, could the Stranger please throw itself into praise/shaming the careful haircuts of the Ace Hotel chain into putting their BUTT-curated porno in the Portland hotel too? I don't want to have to go to NYC or Palms Springs for it. Thanks.

I mean, who the fuck goes to Palm Springs anyway who isn't an aspiring class back waxed bleach toothed choke fucker with a fading tribal circle on at least one stretch marked bicep? Damn that's good coffee.

@1: You can see the generally-scruffy hipstery types of BUTT in most any Portland gay bar, dude. And in most cases, you're instantly assailed with nudity, partial or full.

Speaking of Portland, we need Blow Pony up here. We have Magnum, which is a watered-down version of Jack, but we need Blow Pony! Or they could stop doing Magnum and turn the debauchery dial up to 10 and just have a Jack up here.

Ah man, Jack was the best. I went to all of them... those were some fun, fleeting times.

"Paltry" is kind of an odd way to describe the two Republican governorship wins when there were only two governorships up for election and Republicans claimed them both from Democrats.

@6,
No kidding! I knew a guy in Minnesota who drove a Datsun Honeybee, other than that, I don't recall ever seeing another.

Wasn't a Datsun B210 the car Mike Myers drove in Wayne's World?

@ 8, I think that was a Gremlin.

@7, the Dems won the same two governorships in GWB's first term, at the height of his popularity just after 9/11. Was that a gigantic sea change?

That Datsun is a sweet ride.

So talking shit about cops at a bar will elicit a swarm of SPD squad cars and a night in jail? Full on police state here we come...

RE: Lock and Keel Tavern
You really have to wonder what he was actually saying if it got to the point where the other bar patrons thought it was necessary to call the police. I'm pretty curious about that myself.

Fifty-Two-Eighty 20
Let's face it, only 20% of the voters actually like the Republican party. Where you run into a problem is when people dislike the Democrats. That clearly happened in this election, and unless Obama & Company manage to turn this country around pretty damned quickly, we had all better get used to seeing a lot more of it.

It would be great if the Stranger did an article on the Greenwood arsonist, the increasing crime there and the general lack of police presence in the area. We need to get more attention to the city's failure to protect the Phinney/Greenwood neighborhood pronto.

I heard a vicious rumor that Michele Bachmann has a lesbian lover named Christine Gorland in St. Paul, MN. Can anyone confirm?
Posted by DaiBando on November 5, 2009 at 10:40 AM
Urgutha Forka 23
@22,
Can't be true... It's not that Michele Bachmann is hard to like, she's IMPOSSIBLE to like!

Echoing 21's sentiment: YES, please please do an article about the costly and damn frightening fires being set all over Greenwood. There have been, what, seven? eight? already! Greenwood/Phinney isn't some lame-ass suburb full of NIMBYs, it's part of Seattle and is going up in flames.
