The Next Batch of Election Results

Posted by Dominic Holden on Wed, Nov 4, 2009 at 1:20 PM

Most counties around the state will update their election results this afternoon and this evening, which should give us a better idea of how things will shake out for the mayor's race and Referendum 71. The margin in those contests are one percent and two percent, respectively.

King County will post the Seattle mayoral results here at 4:30 p.m. and each afternoon until November 23. If the mayor's race of 2001 was an indication, we could wait a while before crowning a new king.

Referendum 71 will be reported by the state, which tallies results from each county. The current results for R-71 are posted here. This is the schedule for all the future returns; lots more will come in today—most in the early evening.

And, of course, we'll post updates on all the races—from King County Assessor to Grand Poobah—right here on the Slog.

ok, that takes care of ones mailed up to Monday night, but won't we have to wait for the giant McGinn surge from last minute ballots that were mailed at midnight baby yeah?

Those might be in the Friday numbers.

Does anybody understand why King County Elections stopped counting ballots at 8:15 last night??? They had (and still have) thousands of uncounted ballots on hand that could've been processed and counted, like they have done in previous elections.

Is the county budget in such bad shape now that they have to send everyone home early on election night?
