Richard Conlin's Party Part Two: Minutes Before the Results!

Posted by on Tue, Nov 3, 2009 at 8:19 PM

By 8pm, most of the party is seated and eating. Did we mention the cheese puffs? The complimentary wine has run out, but a couple Conlin supporters have bought some more. "This isn't one of the ones I'm sweating," someone says. Everyone seems more concerned about the mayoral race.. A guy with a mic from KUOW is flipping through a copy of the Stranger. The cafe's owner says Conlin is one of their regulars. Thanks to three adolescents here with their parents, the SECB is not the youngest person here.

And the first round of results!

18,000-something to 56,000-something—for Conlin!

"Who are these 18,000 people," someone asks on their way out.

It's Conlin at 75.4%.
