Seriously, Susan?

Posted by on Mon, Nov 2, 2009 at 9:35 AM

This just in...

A new group called SWISSH (Seattle Women In Support of Susan Hutchison) will be holding a rally today, Monday, November 2nd at 12:00 pm in front of Westlake Center. Susan will be joining them as they work to elect the first female Executive in King County history.

So... anti-choice closet Republican Susan Hutchison is playing the gender card. Because there's nothing Seattle women want more than to launch the political career of a brain-dead, hairspray-huffing dumbfuck who wants to take away their reproductive freedom. And this "new group"—which sprung up spontaneously the day before the election—is calling itself SWISSH. Swish, Susan? As pro-choice gay man, I'm offended.

So Women are not allowed to favor Life because Dan Savage doesn't?
They aren't "Woman" enough if they don't support Abortion?

Fuck You, you arrogant clueless asshole.

"Seattle Women" are overwhelmingly pro-choice. I'm betting the women at this rally today are pretty overwhelmingly not from Seattle. Lots of Bellevue types bused in for the morning. Here's hoping our aggressive panhandlers are out in force at Westlake today.

Yeah, part of a woman's right to chose is the right to chose being pro-life. There are a lot of women out there who are pro-life. Not all of them hate themselves and their gender.

Dan, the "Seattle Women" YOU know are overwhelmingly pro-choice.

Tuesday be prepared to learn a lot about Seattle that you don't currently know.

Do the opinions of "Bellevue types" not count?
Can we discount, ignore and marginalize people whose views differ from our own?

Westlake Mall?

Do they actually expect us to believe these "ladies" took the light rail or bus there, instead of having their limo drivers chauffeur them there?

@10 Well when we are talking about a Seattle group, then no, the Bellevue types do not count... also please die in a fire.

a wee off topic here, but whatever happened to the old slog?

it has become a gathering place for republican bottom feeders on furlough from the seattle pi's comments section. i of course mean no offense to oceanic bottom feeders.

one can certainly listen to different points of view, but when posters play the man and not the ball, than it just becomes a place where one reads insults.

i know that hits means more advertising dollars, but if this keeps up, you will lose all the intelligent and witty debate that slog was known for, and be left with nothing but #2

moderators and mandatory registration now!

@2 bothers you?
it is less insulting, obnoxious and obscene than Savage's typical post.

If Dan Savage is a net benefit to progressive causes, and I believe he is, it is because most of the people that see him make forceful arguments in favor of reproductive freedom and gay equality on TV never happen across the more demagogic silliness he spews here.

We do not need a Limbaugh or Coulter on the left, and if we must have one, let that person at least be funny. We don't need the paranoid style of American politics on the left.

Susan Hutchins is a dissembler, a cunning fraud, a quick-change artist. All of this needs saying. And there are probably witty ways to say it. But referring to her as a "brain-dead, hairspray-huffing dumbfuck" is merely hateful. It is about as probative as calling her a cunt and about as fit for public airing.

@15 -- I am all for opposing those "who play the man and not the ball." I really am. It's a particularly fitting injunction in the context of a post that relies as heavily on ad hominem smear as this one.

I was just at Westlake, Susan is there wearing her blood red jacket and black leather gloves (what is it with Republicans picking the Nazi colors for everything?). She had about 40 supporters and a few more Dow supporters (a dozen more perhaps) shouting down the pro-facist supporters of Susan Cuntchinson.

@7 I'm totally pro-choice. I just don't see why suggesting that there are self-respecting feminist pro-life women out their, contrary to what Dan would suggest, is such an insult.

Sir Vic 24
One of Suzie's TV ads snuck through my random viewing habits over the weekend. I noticed that she was presented EXACTLY like she had been on kiro all those years, especially the hair. Much like Dubya relied on pure name recognition for his electoral success, Suzie is relying on visual familiarity for hers.

I got a call from the King County Republicans yesterday and they have officially endorsed Hutchison. But she is still sooooo not a Republican.

#12 - Hutchison will tell anyone who is pro-choice that abortion does not matter. Human Life of Washington, however, has said she has spoken at a few of their events, at least that is what they told me. I have no ideas what she said at those speaking engagements and I doubt they would make it up.

@22

you counted 40? clearly your prescription must be renewed. she had 15 at the most. most carrying 2 signs.

not that it matters, but her supporters need to eat, some of em were skeletal or as samuel jackson would say, cadaverous.

@21 you made my point. see how easy one can disagree without engaging in name calling.

Curtisp: Interesting that you say Human Life told you she spoke at some of our events. As CEO of Human Life since 2000, I can tell you that I don't know if she ever did. Someone called here and asked, and that is what I told them.

Who did you supposedly hear it from?
