Americans Have More To Fear From Health Care Reform...

Posted by Dan Savage on Mon, Nov 2, 2009 at 1:33 PM

...than they do from “any terrorist right now in any country."

Wouldn't it be great if stupidity was a deadly—the deadliest—carcinogen?

How about that quadruple homicide recently in her small home town of Mount Airy? Suppose the Health Care bill had something to do with that too.

Ah, the patented Sally Kern brand of political discourse. Select your target and then casually dub it ' a bigger threat than terrorism'. Then refrain from any coherent explanation of this claim whatsoever.

The GOP is all about getting people afraid of their own shadows.

Maybe the GOP should declare a war on the health reform bill? That's their usual response to stuff they're both afraid of and have no control over, right?

Rep. Virginia Foxx is one x (and 50 years) away from having an awesome porn name. But come now:

“It is better for all the world, if instead of waiting to execute degenerate offspring for crime ... society can prevent those who are manifestly unfit from continuing their kind... Three generations of imbeciles are enough.”

Nobody wants to go there.

Oh she's not stupid, or at least she's stupid like the Foxx she is. Same old GOP crap--scare them into line. NO way to counter, but with the facts, such as: according to the Congressional Budget office, the House bill as stands will reduce the deficit by 100 billion over the next ten years.

Fear is the mind killer.

And also what the Nazis want us to live in.

YES. What is this old lady doing?

She's nearing the promise land in age, shouldn't she be focused on "getting her house in order?" Instead of trying to cash in with the insurance companies??

Does she honestly think she'll still get paid when she croaks? How much time does she left in life to spend it?

Hey, remember when Rep. Grayson said that the Republicans' plan was for you to die quickly, and all those Republicans were SO concerned about the level of discourse, SO outraged that someone would say something inflammatory? Well, I'd say that saying someone's plan is worse than terrorism is clearly as inflammatory, if not more so. So I'm sure those same Republicans will be condemning Foxx just as vociferously. Right? Right? Waiting.....

Has anyone noticed that ever since we started picking up the tab for meds for these Medicare Queens that they've gotten kookier? For the love of God, abolish Medicare (or at least Part D) and release these drug-addled crazies from their delusions!

Considering that 45,000 Americans lose their lives every year from lack of insurance, that's like a 9/11 attack every single month. So she's right. Just not the way she intends it.

What does this say about North Carolina if this old bitch represents that state? Shouldn't they be ashamed? Embarrassed even? But then again, if Michelle Bacman is still around, then I guess people are stupider then I dare imagine.

Of course she and her constituents are afraid--those dumb fucking Yankees elected a nigger as President!

Lanis@18, I actually know some very nice, very intelligent people from North Carolina who are horrified that someone like Foxx represents their state. The trouble is they're the minority. But, hey, at least she makes me feel a little bit better. Living in Tennessee I used to think we had it bad with Bill "The Cat Killer" Frist. Little did I know how much worse my neighbors to the East have it.
